More cruise calls with fewer passengers aboard cruise ships in 2016
In 2016 there has been a total of 24.244 passengers visiting Greenland, aboard this season’s cruise ships, which is a -3,2 pct. Decrease compared to the total amount in 2015.

Of the 104 cruise calls in 2016 it has frequently been the ships of 0-250 passenger capacity.

As seen in table 2 the guests have arrived at more harbours than last year and amounted to a total of 83.605 visits. This is an 18,0 pct. Increase compared to 2015. This statistic is affected by there being more ships in the 501-1200 passenger capacity category, than the same category last year.

You’re more likely to meet a German passenger off the cruise ship. The passengers are distributed by nation as seen in figure 2. A more detailed statistic can be acquired in the statistics bank.

Note.: A number of ships are observed through other sources than the Tax Office’s registry. Therefore some ships and cruise calls are without registration of nationality and number of passengers. Where the passengers were unregistered there has been an estimate based on an average occupancy rate of ships in 2010-2014 and the passenger capacity of the ship. This group is in the category “Unregistered” and is a bigger part of the total in 2016 than in 2015
