RESEARCH

Nowadays research is considered an important driver in the development of the growth and welfare of a society. The EU countries endeavour to make the total expenditure on research and development reach one per cent of the gross domestic product. Greenland has not committed itself to such a goal but has formulated a policy for the development of research activities.

Research in Greenland is composed of two broad categories, research in the societal and economic development of Greenland and basic research of European and global interest.
