More people are living in Greenland during summer.

By July 1st 2011 56.890 persons are living in Greenland. It is 275 more than on January 1st this year or 112 more than July 1st 2010.

For the first time Statistics Greenland publishes figures on the midyear size of the population and offers a breakdown on age, gender, place of birth, region,  marital status and citizenship in our statistical database – the Statbank. In 2010 we carried out a test that showed that by July 1st 2010, 56.768 persons were living in Greenland. Compared with this year there seems to be some seasonal variation until now unaccounted for.
