Consumption of alcohol and tobacco for the Greenlandic age group older than 14 years has been declining during the last decades. Today, consumption of alcoholic beverages and tobacco is halved in comparison with 25-30 years ago. It is now at par with the rest of the Nordic countries.
The statistics for alcohol and tobacco is limited to alcoholic beverages and tobacco imported to Greenland, plus alcoholic beverages produced in Greenland. Both statistical areas show calculations of the yearly consumption of alcohol and tobacco, for the population segment older than 14 years. However, 18 years in minimum legal age for purchase of alcohol and tobacco in Greenland.
