Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq generally has the country's highest income level compared to Greenland's other municipalities. In Qeqqata Kommunia, the income level is approximately at the national average, while the income in the Municipality of Kujalleq, the Municipality of Qeqertalik and Avannaata Kommunia is 12-22 percent below the national average, cf. the figure above average personal income in total below.
The income level in the settlements is generally significantly lower than in the cities. However, this difference varies from municipality to municipality. Thus, the difference between town and village is greatest in Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq, where the average personal income in total is about twice as large for a citizen in Nuuk as for a citizen in one of the municipality's settlements.
