How is Greenland’s economy doing right now?

That’s what the short-term trends aim to answer. by tracking a series of carefully selected indicators, the statistics provide a short term overview of the country’s economic development.

The figures show how the economy is moving from quarter to quarter and are assessed in relation to previous periods. Here are some of the key indicators that reflect activity in society:

Volume of goods: Indicate how much is being imported and exported – and therefore how busy the trade and transport sectors are.

The current income tax: The level of taxes paid offers an indication of how active the labour market is.

Loans from and deposit in banks: Changes in savings and borrowing reveal how much households and business are spending and investing.
