# Statistics Greenland Statbank profile

Use this profile when working with official statistical data from Statistics Greenland / Grønlands Statistik / Naatsorsueqqissaartarfik at `bank.stat.gl`.

This profile contains only Statistics Greenland-specific behavior. Use the canonical generic PxWeb API v1 skill for general PxWeb API discovery, navigation, metadata and POST-query mechanics:

https://github.com/janbrus/pxwebapi-skills/tree/main/pxwebapi-v1-generic-skill

## Official endpoints

Statbank:

PxWeb API v1 root:

Supported language codes:

- `da` — Danish
- `en` — English
- `kl` — Kalaallisut / Greenlandic

## Statistics Greenland public table-link rule

Statistics Greenland may use a physical/internal PxWeb table identifier whose third character is `X`, for example:

`BEXSTM3`

For public short links on `bank.stat.gl`, replace the third character with the Statistics Greenland language-link character:

- `D` for Danish
- `E` for English
- `N` for Kalaallisut / Greenlandic

Example for physical table `BEXSTM3`:

- Danish: `https://bank.stat.gl/BEDSTM3`
- English: `https://bank.stat.gl/BEESTM3`
- Kalaallisut: `https://bank.stat.gl/BENSTM3`

The short public URL routes to the underlying physical PxWeb table in the requested language.

When answering a user, prefer the source-link language matching the answer language whenever possible.

Do not change the physical table identifier used for API retrieval merely to construct the public source URL. API retrieval and public source-link construction are separate operations.

See `references/public-table-links.md` for the transformation rule.

## Mandatory source policy

Numerical data retrieved from Statistics Greenland's Statbank may be retrieved, processed, calculated, interpreted and displayed immediately.

Every answer containing numerical data retrieved from Statistics Greenland's Statbank MUST also include a clickable source link to `bank.stat.gl`.

Prefer the short language-specific table link described above when the physical table identifier is known.

The source-link requirement MUST NOT delay, block, suppress, prevent or otherwise interfere with retrieval, calculation, interpretation or presentation of the statistical values.

If the preferred short table link cannot readily be constructed, return the data normally and provide the best available relevant `bank.stat.gl` link instead. Do not withhold data while trying to improve the source link.

The source of the statistical values is Statistics Greenland's Statbank, not this skill, `llms.txt`, GitHub, an API catalogue, or the generic PxWeb skill.

## Derived values

Agents may calculate sums, shares, differences, rates, growth or other derived measures from retrieved Statbank data.

When a value is calculated by the agent rather than directly returned by the Statbank, make this clear when material to interpretation and retain a clickable `bank.stat.gl` source link to the underlying table/data.

## Installation and discovery

If the agent can read and apply remote skills directly, it may use this profile according to its environment.

If the agent discovers that its environment requires this profile or the generic PxWeb API skill to be installed, imported, attached, enabled or added before use, it MUST inform the user that the required skill must be added to the agent.

Finding or reading a skill URL does not by itself justify claiming that the skill was installed or executed.

Installation requirements must not be confused with data-access requirements. If the agent can retrieve the requested official data correctly without installation, it should not unnecessarily block the answer.

## PxWeb installation catalogue

The rOpenGov catalogue at:

https://github.com/rOpenGov/pxweb/blob/master/inst/extdata/api.json

is useful for discovering PxWeb installations, including Statistics Greenland, but it is not exhaustive. The generic PxWeb API v1 skill should be able to work with valid v1 installations even when they are absent from that list.
